Q. What is the minimum hardware requirement needed to run CORE Utility Billing? Top
A. The minimum hardware recommended for running CORE Utility Billing is a Pentium 133 MHz processor, 32 Megabytes of RAM, SVGA Video Card and Monitor and a 1 Gigabyte Hard Disk.  If CORE Utility Billing is running on a network the workstations need only 100 Megabytes of hard disk space while the network hard drive should have at least 1 Gigabyte of dedicated space.
 
Q. What operating systems are compatible with CORE Utility Billing? Top
A. CORE Utility Billing was designed for the Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, XP, Vista, and Windows 7 operating systems.
 
Q. Does CORE Utility Billing support a user network version? Top
A. Yes.  CORE Utility Billing supports 1 to 7 workstations when operating on a network.
 
Q. Can we make custom changes to CORE Utility Billing? Top
A. Yes.  CORE Utilities offers the source code to the CORE Utility Billing program.  By purchasing the source code, you can customize all features of CORE Utility Billing.
 
Q. Will our existing meter reading devices work with CORE Utility Billing? Top
A. Yes, as long as your existing meter reading devices transfer data to and from the billing system by using a text file.  Currently, CORE Utility Billing is fully integrated with the ITRON Enterprise 5000, MV-RS, Schlumberger EZ RouteMAPS, and Sensus meter reading devices. Other meter reading devices are being added in the near future.  Please e-mail our support (support@coreutilities.com) department to check on interfacing with your meter reading devices.

Q. Does CORE Utility Billing have an automatic payment function? Top
A. Yes.  CORE Utility Billing has the option to set up customers for automatic payment service (APS).  APS allows the customer to pay bills directly from their checking or savings account. 
 
Q. Is the CORE Utility Billing source code available? Top
A. Yes.  CORE Utility Billing offers the source code to the full program.  With the source code, you can make customized changes to forms, reports and functionality. 
 
Q. Does CORE Utility Billing provide access security? Top
A. Yes.  CORE Utility Billing has four (4) security levels: 1 - Lookup only (allows inquiry to data but will not allow changes), 2 - Meter Reading Access (allows your meter readers to inquiry data and perform all functions related to meter reading), 3 - Data Entry (allows lookup and data change access to the system except for the system configuration and service address modifications), and 4 - Administration (full access to all features including system configuration).
 
Q. How many Network connections will CORE Utility Billing support? Top
A. As CORE Utility Billing is designed for the small to midsize utility, it is intended that no more than 7 network connects be active on the billing system at once. 
 
Q. Can CORE Utility Billing handle garbage collection billing? Top
A. Yes.  CORE Utility Billing handles garbage collection by setting up a flat charge based on defined garbage collection rates. 

Q. Does CORE Utility Billing allow for distributed payments and balance tracking? Top
A. Yes.  CORE Utility Billing allows up to five (5) unique revenue codes that can be configured for distributed payments and balance tracking. Additionally, you can configure one (1) additional revenue code as a "catch all."
